Presentation of the SDA Sandžaka

The Democratic Action Party of Sandzak (Stranka demokratske akcije Sandžaka - SDA Sandžaka) is the oldest political party of the Bosniak minority in Serbia (founding act, party's website). It was founded in 1990 as the Democratic Action Party (Stranka demokratske akcije) with the aid of the same-named party (SDA) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose section it originally was, and registered under the present name in 1996, which denoted its evolution into a fully independent political party.

Before its official renaming, the party used the flag of its namesake from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the design which was in use in a particular time. This practice was continued for a long time after the renaming as well. Current flag was adopted in 2011 or a bit earlier, the main difference being in the use of a distinctive logo. The party Statutes (text), its current version dating from 2012, still does not refer to this distinction.

Article 7.
The party symbol is a composition and combination of a stylized fleur-de-lis and the initial letters of the party name.
The party flag consists of three fields along the flag length. Two fields in green color of equal width, 30% each, along the longer edges of the flag and the central field of 40% width, in white color. In the center of white area is the party symbol.
The ratio of length to width is 3:2.
The Main Committee has the right to make changes to the symbol of the party.

The instructions for construction of the logo and flag, which were published in 2011 (document), specify the logo as the combination of a fleur-de-lis and the "semi-abbreviation" "SDA SANDŽAKA". The fleur-de-lis is white, fimbriated gray and casts a gray shadow to its right-hand side, the letters "SDA" are each in a different color - green, blue and red, respectively - and the word "SANDŽAKA is green. The colors are specified as follows:
- Green: CMYK 91-40-98-7; RGB 30-115-65; Pantone 356 EC;
- Blue: CMYK 100-100-0-0; RGB 48-48-143; Pantone 2746 EC;
- Red: CMYK 0-100-100-0; RGB 250-0-15; Pantone 1795 EC;
- Gray: CMYK 0-0-0-60; RGB 126-130-133; Pantone 423 EC.

The flag has horizontal and vertical variants. On the vertical variant, the logo partly covers the green fields, the letter "A" in the abbreviation "SDA" and the letters "KA" in the word "SANDŽAKA" are therefore fimbriated white and also cast white "shadows" to their right-hand side. This variant may have more oblong form than the standard 2:3 (length up to 1/2 of the flagstaff length), but the logo shall always be centered.

Flags for ordinary use shall be made of polyester or mesh. Ceremonial flags have only the horizontal form, shall be made of satin and edged with yellow fringes. Table flags may have both forms, shall be made of satin and have fringed edge (horizontal variant) or be made of silk and have corded edges (vertical variant).

The vertical flag has a special variant for hanging on the rearview mirrors of the vehicles, with proportions of 2:3 only and the party website URL "www.sda.rs" inscribed in black at the bottom of the white field. It shall be made of silk and have corded edges.
